FIRST VERSION, BUT I STILL DON'T SEE THE INTEREST.....................

ONE THING I WOULD INSIST UPON, THOUGH....YOU NEED TO CLEAN UP THE
E-MAILS....NOT FOR CONTENT, BUT FOR SPELLING.

I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A STICKLER FOR SPELLING AND PUNCTUATION. E-MAILS
ARE OFTEN HURRIEDLY SENT , AND OFTEN NOT CHECKED FOR SPELLING OR TYPOS,
............LIKE THIS ONE . PLEASE DO THAT FOR ME, AND MAYBE ALSO FOR YOURSELF.

Hi JD;

Blackhawks???? Now, that is a surprise!

Actually, I attended only one hockey game---again with Gary C. It was
Red Wings vs Montreal with the Rocket still playing plus Gordie. I
never did get into the game however.

What happened in 2010 that finally turned you off to the Blackhawks?

Gotta go...On my way to the Closer,  Mike Nichols latest film.

Sincerely;

Dan

I would opt for the former....unexpurgated....so I can make BIG BUCKS
with my percentage and with the advertisement to my (non) best-seller.

Also, as of late, in my correspondence you will note some obvious text
scrambling, due to some computer glitch
during transmission. This should also be cleaned up, when it is most
annoying. And, as to the editing, well, we both might benefit from
that, like for me in my sometimes haste,
and you and your contractions !!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.JD

I have been a Blackhawk fan ever since around 1957 or so....whenever
the Red Wings traded Ted Lindsay ... my favorite player at the time.
He went to the Hawks, and I was angry
at the Wings, so I started following the Hawks, and have ever since.
Still do. I was never turned OFF to the Hawks. What I meant was, in
2010, they finally came through for me,
winning the Stanley Cup in a 6-game finals vs Philadelphia, in
overtime. High point of my allegiance to them, other than in 1961,
when they beat the Wings for their last previous cup.

I give you credit....you are loyal to your team......a noble trait,
like me with the Angels all these years, and with the Blackhawks for 49
years, until 2010!

Starlin will come back. The Cubs, alas, ...........may never.

Hi JD;

Yes, the Cubs stink and they may stink even more since the 31st July trading deadline. They traded away Dempster, with the best ERA in the majors; along with G. Soto (he was rookie of the year a year or two back) and while he was hitting only 200, he handled the pitchers very well; Maholm who they only got last spring and Reed Johnson who was batting .302. And what did they get? Zilch!!!! But, then again, maybe not. All the tradees, from the other teams, were playing in the minors, some may be super stars tomorrow.

I think management assumed that the season was, indeed, over. So they initiated a rebuilding program.

As to my boy Starlin, well you have a history of discounting his abilities. In the last ten days he has had two 3 for 5 days and he's hitting homeruns and doubles and stealing bases. As I said, I think he is a streak batter and when he gets hot all this negativism will be history. Of course, he's still only what 22? or 23? he can also be excused because NO one is hitting on the Cubs. I mean, in the last week the Cubs have managed three hits, four hits or sometimes a high of five per game.

...So, I admit they stink, but everyday I click on to their web-site because it is the start of a new day...And in baseball anything can happen...And I DO love my Cubbies through rain or shine, sleet or snow and all other natural hazards...You gotta believe...I know, strange thing to hear from an agnostic.

Sincerely;

Dan
